1. How do I register?

Go to: www.9-11stairclimb.com and look for the Denver link. Follow the on-line registration.

NOTE: registration is closed for the 2010 climb and will reopen on July 1, 2011 for the 2011 climb.

2. When should I register?

Registration for the 2011 event will open on July 1. The 2010 climb filled in just about 12 hours, so you'll have to be fast. More information will be posted on the main page as we get closer to the July date.

3. Can I request a name to climb with or are they randomly selected?

They are randomly selected and passed out during the registration process on the morning of the event. It would be too difficult logistically to offer that people could choose the FDNY brother that they are climbing for. However, if you have a personal connection (family, friend, etc) then we will do our best to fullfill your request. Send us an e-mail using the 'Contact Us' link on the left side of the page and we will get in touch with you.

4. Can I register an entire team at one time?

Unfortunately, the system that we are using doesn't allow for mass-registration at one time. Each person that wants to participate will have to have their own registration. To make things easier, you can use a single address if you are the person tasked with registering a group.

5. How do I fold the 2.5" hose into the high-rise carry?

We have posted a How-To Powerpoint that will walk you through the process of making the Denver Fold high-rise pack. Please click here to be taken to that instructional page.

6. How are the teams/companies selected?

Members of the same department will climb together in teams that are made up to be approximately the same size as engine or truck companies. Participants will be grouped together with others from your department, and a company officer will be randomly selected to fill that role for the climb. This person will be the designated contact with the registration and the lobby control during the event (don't worry if you are not an officer on the line....it's good experience for you too!). If there are fewer than four climbers from a department, you will be assigned with another department to make up a team. If you would like to climb with someone specifically (you are out of state and want to climb with your friend, or your department has a lot of climbers, etc) please have one person contact us and we will see what we can do. Please refrain from requesting teams otherwise, and once teams are assigned, we ask that you stay within those companies.

7. Will donations be accepted for the NFFF at the event?

Yes. Cash or check made out to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation; Memo: Denver Stair Climb. There will be a staffed table in the loading dock area with information about the NFFF.

8. Will t-shirts be available for sale at the event?

No (unless we have extra for some reason). We only order enough t-shirts for each participant to get one.

9. Do press need press passes?

Not at this time. If you are a member of the press and interested in coming down, we ask that you simply give us a heads-up.

10. Is family allowed at the climb?

No. This is simply due to the requirements of the building.
